When you’re making weed brownies, it’s not enough that it tastes good. It should also have the desired kick that will give you a high feeling. This THC-laced goodie is the usual first foray to edibles of marijuana users.
In this recipe, we will teach you how to bake an insanely delicious pot brownie that will you and your friends’ minds. Sweet, moist, and THC-laced for your enjoyment.
Some bakers opt for chocolate ganache while others prefer the rough texture of classic chocolate cocoa. Whatever your option is, both will give a gooey and moist touch to your edibles. So without further fluff, here’s how you can make that mouth-watering brownie:
First: let’s prepare cannabis-infused butter
Other bakers use THC oil for their brownie-making process. If you want oil instead of butter, read more here or refer below. But for the butter, here’s what you need to prepare:
-1 small pot, 1 large pot
-3.5 grams of weed per brownie serving
-coffee or herb grinder
Once you have all these items, fill the large pot with water and place it on the burner. Don’t fill it to the brim as you’ll place the small pot inside the large pot. After that, place three butter sticks into the small pot and let it simmer.
Watch out for the temperature and set it in moderate heat to avoid destroying the THC. If this happens, the brownies won’t have any high effect.
Let the butter simmering on the pot for the next two or three hours. Once done, pour it onto the cheesecloth to filter the stems and seeds. You should spread this butter on a large pan. Make sure to make some butter sticks which we will need on preparing the brownie mixture.

You can also prepare the THC oil:
Here’s what you’ll need for this:
-flavorless cooking oil
-medium size pot
-3.5 grams of marijuana (or less if you want lower THC levels)
-coffee or herb grinder
Start by grinding the marijuana until it becomes powdery in form. Spread this evenly on a pre-heated pan to unleash the THC. It’s best that the pan has the same size as that of the burner.
As this simmers, pour the flavorless oil directly into the heating marijuana powder. Make sure that you turn the fire on medium heat to avoid destroying the THC.
When the oil and cannabis powder is simmering, set the burner in the lowest heat and let the mixture simmer for the next two to six hours. Keep in mind that you’d have to stir this every 30 minutes to avoid burning the mixture.
Once the oil has absorbed the THC, filter this using the cheesecloth onto a clean pot. Make sure that there are no plant materials left or you’ll have to re-filter the oil.
The end product has a musky, brownish color with an oily consistency. This can be used as an alternative for the cannabutter. Aside from that, the THC oil can be used for other cooking applications.
Now that the butter or oil is prepared, you can now proceed to concoct the brownie mixture.
Ingredients for the brownie
-1 stick of cannabis-infused butter (infused with 3.5 grams of cannabis or less)
-3/4 cup cocoa
-2 large eggs
-1/8 teaspoon of baking soda
-1 cup of cake flour
-1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
-2 cups of refined sugar
-guts of one vanilla bean
-4 ounce of chocolate (semi-sweet or bittersweet, your choice)
-1/2 teaspoon of salt
Step 1. Preheat the pot in 350F and toss the cannabis-infused butter/oil into it with some water. Let this melt.
Step 2. Use two bowls: a dry bowl and a wet bowl. On the dry bowl, mix all the powders and other dry ingredients like the cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cocoa. On the wet bowl, mix all the wet or moist ingredients like eggs, vanilla, and the likes.
Step 3. Set the mixtures aside and start melting the bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Whatever that’s available will be good. While melting, put the shortening until it melts with the chocolate.
Step 4. Once the choco mixture is melted, mix it slowly with the wet bowl where the eggs and other ingredients are combined. Mix this with a spatula and add more cannabutter as you wish.
Step 5. Mix the chocolate mixture until all the ingredients are well spread. Don’t aerate the mixture too much or you’ll have an unpleasant consistency once the brownie is baked.
Step 6. Once the chocolate mixture has a fine look, add it to the dry bowl. This will require a lot of stirring until all the powders are infused on the batter. You’ll have to spend a lot of time on this part, making sure that there are no chunks of powder left unmixed.
Step 7. Remember the pan you’ve covered with cannabutter earlier? You’ll place the choco batter on top of it. Spread the thick and luscious batter into it flatly. Smoothen it and smack the surface to remove any trapped air that will ruin the consistency of the brownie.
Step 8. Cook this in the oven for 350F for 30 minutes up to an hour. For better results, cook it for the first 15 minutes then rotate the pan then bake it for another 15 minutes. This way, your brownie won’t have raw parts.
Step 9. Cool it out of the oven. If you want your brownie to hold up and have a solid structure, you have to let it cool for at least 10 minutes. In case you’re bent to try it, use a very sharp knife to cut out a portion.
Reminders before you devour the brownies
With the THC consistency, we’ve extracted through the butter and oil, every one-inch slice of this brownie will have around 29 mg of THC. This is a potent level so make sure that you serve small slices.
If you want to lower the THC level, you can reduce the 3.5 grams of marijuana to 2.5 grams or 2 grams as it suits you. Always measure the THC level so you’ll know what you’re munching and how much high you’ll experience.
For those who don’t want to repeat the process of extracting THC, they can simply switch half of the cannabutter with regular butter. That way, the potency is balanced.
This will cut the THC amount to roughly 15 mg per inch slice. Such a level is suitable for people who don’t smoke weed often.
How to eat the brownie
As much as your edibles are sumptuous, fight the urge to binge-eat. Always let an hour before you eat another slice. If you gobble three or four slices in one sitting, you’ll be impaired for hours.
For beginners, it’s best not to consume more than 5 mg of THC in their edibles. This means you’ll have to cut the amount of marijuana you’ll use on making butter or oil. Anyway, it will be easier if you’ll just swap more portions of the cannabutter with regular ones.
If you’re serving the brownie in a party, it would help if you’ll let everyone know how much THC is in it.
